The party institution La Demence is not only celebrating this autumn its thirtieth anniversary of parties in Brussels. Next summer it will also, from July 5 till July 12, 2020, be celebrating the tenth edition of “The Cruise” aboard Royal Caribbean’s elegant “Explorer of The Seas,” a trip not to be missed!
Sailing out of Rome on the 5th of July 2020, The Cruise takes its participants on a legendary journey to Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia, to Kotor in Montenegro and Sarandä in Albania. Explore pristine beaches and historic UNESCO world heritage sites and enjoy mouth-watering cuisine.
On offer are fabulous shore visits, mouth-watering food, dozens of on-board activities, entertainment and parties, plus always the option to sit back and do absolutely nothing.
“The Cruise” is known for its friendly atmosphere and the more intimate setting of its mid-size ships. “The Explorer of the Seas,” which will be renovated in early 2020, has fifteen decks offering room to 3286 guests. It has 1,643 cabins and suites with balconies.
Amenities include the FlowRider surf simulator, an ice skating ring, three resort-style swimming pools, seven jacuzzis, a nudist deck, a twenty-four–hour darkroom, as well as an outdoor cinema screen, a solarium, various dining options and bars, and waterslides.
Working out is easy in the expanded gym, with panoramic views of the sea, or try out the climbing wall, the running track, the mini-golf or basketball court. All these facilities are free to use.
During afternoons, DJs spin chilled lounge music around the pools. Relax with new and old friends, take a dip, chat, or order a refreshing drink. Or slip away to one of the quiet decks, where all you hear is the sound of the breeze and the sea.
Marvel at the spectacles offered every evening by the ship’s international team of professional dancers and singers, along with artists brought on board by “The Cruise.”
As evening falls, the pool deck is transformed into Europe’s hottest and friendliest floating open air party, complete with the best sounds, lights and a happy, high-energy crowd. With up to three parties a day, there is always something to do on board.
This Cruise marks the tenth anniversary of Europe’s well-known gay cruise. The first voyage set off in July 2011 from Malaga, on Pullmantur’s Horizon, with 850 guests on board. It was the start of a yearly event, with all cruises departing from European ports, in the summer months. Destinations over the years have included the Balearics, the Canary Islands, Italy and the Greek Isles, to name a few.
With mind-blowing parties on a ship amidst dramatic settings and a vibrant crowd, “The Cruise” created an escape from the everyday shore-bound lives we sometimes wish to leave behind. Since the start, “The Cruise” has seen a yearly growth in numbers and nationalities, welcoming over 2100 guests, from eighty-five different nationalities on its last edition.
In 2019, having organized eight consecutive years with Pullmantur Cruises, “The Cruise,” wanting to expand horizons and offer new itineraries, jumped ship to Royal Caribbean Cruises and set off on a voyage on the “Rhapsody of The Seas,” departing from Venice tot the Greek Isles and Montenegro.
