The Reguliersdwarsstraat used to be the gay street in Amsterdam. At a certain point, more and more “straight hospitality” took over, when, after the once legendary Havana, the April also closed its doors.
For some years it seemed that the bars Soho and Taboo were pulling the “queer cart,” with 3xNYX on Saturdays, among others. The opening of Taboo Kantine last year and the reopened and renewed Artem Bodywear turned out to be spring announcements for a renewed fervor. With the opening of the totally new gay bar Blend, the street now seems to have been won back from the straights: the Reguliers again is a street to visit, to watch and be seen.
Valy and Jorge, known from Amstel 54 and Club Yolo, as well as the organizers of the main stage at Pride on Dam Square, will be bringing Bar Blend to Regulierdwarsstraat at number 41 (between Taboo Kantine and Artem) at the end of July.
The old House of Rising that was once here has been completely renovated and refurbished. It has become a very stylish bar, spread over two floors, with a varied selection of live entertainment and different events organized.
In addition to this, Bar Blend offers the opportunity to create spaces for your own party, drinks and other events; Valy and Jorge are happy to help and brainstorm about the implementation, in order for the party to become a great success.
Follow Bar Blend or visit their website barblend.nl for more information, but of course it’s best to just go there: Reguliersdwarsstraat 41, from July 25, 2019.
