On April 13, the Pink Party will celebrate its fortieth anniversary in Maastricht. The Pink Party is thought to be the oldest, still existing GLBTI party in the Netherlands.
The organizers are proud of that, as it has not always been easy to organize a party for all walks of life and in different times. Nevertheless, with the efforts of many volunteers, they managed to keep this party alive for forty years now!
The Pink Party was established by COC Limburg in 1978 with the intention to give the concept of integration more content. Over the years, it has grown into one of the biggest gay celebrations in the Netherlands and is organized entirely by volunteers while being financed by sponsors. The party is possible thanks to the successful cooperation with Yourlifestyle, sauna Joe, Demo Productions and COC Limburg.
Of course, its fortieth anniversary simply cannot go unnoticed. Over the years, the Pink Party was held in many different venues. For this XL edition in April, the party goes back to a location that, for many people, symbolizes partying in the province of Limburg. On April 13, La Bonbonnière will open its doors for a party across two halls, with five DJs, a live band, drag queens, cocktails and more.
Which artists will lend their participation to the party will be announced in the upcoming months via social media. Facebook: @pinkpartymaastricht.
Tickets are available through GayGo.
