On Saturday, October 29, Inside Leather History, A Fireside Chat and the LeatherHistory.eu Foundation will organise a live-on-stage interview with the Amsterdam entrepreneur Martijn Bakker.
“Inside Leather History, A Fireside Chat” is a program by the Leather Archives & Museum from Chicago. The Fireside Chat is a live-on-stage interview project that wants to record the stories and historical meaning of the people who have made a significant contribution to the leather and fetish scene. The Fireside Chats are recorded will be preserved at the Leather Archives & Museum, as well as local archives.
The project is a co-production of Mistress Joanne Gaddy, Christina Court, technical director Von Tramel of the American “The Leather Journal,” and Douglas O’Keeffe, a leatherman from Chicago, also acting as presenter and interviewer.
Throughout the years, Martijn Bakker has made significant contributions to the Dutch leather and fetish scene, especially as owner of the leather and fetish store RoB. In 1996, he organized the very first Leather Pride Amsterdam. He published a leather magazine, and was owner of Club Fuxxx and Argos Bar. In the interview, Martijn will discuss the history of the leather and fetish scene, as well as his contributions, his knowledge, and observations.
“Inside Leather History: A Fireside Chat with Martijn Bakker” is part of the twentieth edition of Leather Pride Amsterdam, organized October 27-31. The Martijn Bakker event will take place on October 29 from 14:00 at Club Church, Kerkstraat 52 in Amsterdam. The main language is English, and admission is free. After the on-stage interview, there is opportunity for questions from the audience.
